Where and when do you meet for Sunday service?

SCF meets at Hengshan Church, at 53 Hengshan Road.  We hold 2 services on Sundays, at 2pm and 4pm.  Both services are identical in content and message, lasting 1-1/2 hours and conducted in English. Under Chinese government regulations, SCF services is open to foreign passport holders, foreign resident permit holders and their spouse/children only. Please note that Hengshan Church itself conducts church services in Chinese, at 7am, 10am, and 7pm, which are open to everyone.

What is the service format?

We begin each service with a Call to Worship (scripture reading, worship song), announcements, then an extended time of worship lasting about 20 minutes, followed by a 30 minute message.  The service ends with a time of prayer for anyone who would like to be prayed for/over by our team of elders and intercessors.

Do you have a dress code?

People tend to dress casually in Shanghai, so while there is no formal dress code, most people tend to dress in “business casual” clothes. During the summer months, the air conditioning inside the church is quite strong and it’s best to keep bare shoulders covered to avoid being cold.

What is your worship style?

Contemporary, lively and spirit-filled!
