10 August 2021 – Psalm 111:10 (NIV)

Scripture

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.”

Reflection

As Christians, the fear of the Lord must be seen in our life, it is not optional. The way we think, act and talk should show that we respect, revere God. Without the fear of the Lord, we cannot talk about wisdom, for wisdom commences with it.
Let us walk in the fear of Lord by living a holy life, a life which pleases God (2 Corinthians 7:1).

Thoughts for the day

  • What does this passage tell you about God or Jesus?

  • How can you apply this message in your current situation

Prayer

God of all wisdom, we wisdom for the leaders of nations, local governments and vital institutions which serve the public. You have positioned them for “such a time as this” give them wisdom to fight the virus, faith to fight the fear and strength to maintain these vital institutions. This is our prayer:

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea” Psalm 46:1-2
