12 September 2019 – Psalm 147:19-20 (NIV)

12 September 2019 – Psalm 147:19-20 (NIV)

Scripture

19 He has revealed his word to Jacob,
    his laws and decrees to Israel.
20 He has done this for no other nation;
    they do not know his laws.

Praise the Lord.

Reflection

The nation of Israel was special to God because through its people He brought his laws and through its people He sent his Son, Jesus Christ.

Although it started with Israel, it didn’t stop with them – we’ve all been invited into a special relationship with God through Jesus Christ. In Galatians 3:28,29 it says:

“There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

Thoughts for the day

  • What does this passage tell you about God or Jesus?
  • What does this passage tell you about humanity?
  • What do you feel God is telling you through this passage?
  • How can you apply this message in an area of your life that needs transformation?
  • Is there anyone you think should hear or will benefit from this message? Go and tell them.
