15 MAY 2018 -Jeremiah 5:25 (NIV)

Scripture

 25 Your wrongdoings have kept these away;
    your sins have deprived you of good.

Reflection

Jeremiah is confronting a group of people who know the right thing do and are not doing it, this in spite of the fact that they also know there will be consequences to the oppression they have brought on the vulnerable members of their community. How can some people hear but not understand or see but not discern? In response, Jesus said, “But blessed are your eyes for they see and your ears for they hear” (Matthew 13:16) If by hearing and understanding you received the grace of God and healed – be grateful (Ps. Dale).
