17 JANUARY 2018 – Psalm 139:23-24 (AMP)

17 JANUARY 2018 – Psalm 139:23-24 (AMP)

Scripture

23 Search me [thoroughly], O God, and know my heart;
Test me and know my anxious thoughts;
24 And see if there is any wicked or hurtful way in me,
And lead me in the everlasting way.

Reflection

“The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?” so declares Jeremiah. (Jeremiah 17:9) Only God can get a real good look at our heart, the place where motives are birthed. It’s like he has a special torch with a supernatural brightness which illumines the depths of our minds. What will He find there? Ask and listen (Ps. Dale).

Prayer

Pray the Lord’s Prayer: Matthew 6:9-13:

“OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN,
HALLOWED BE YOUR NAME,
YOUR KINGDOM COME,
YOUR WILL BE DONE,
ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN.
GIVE US TODAY OUR DAILY BREAD.
AND FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS,
AS WE ALSO HAVE FORGIVEN OUR DEBTORS.
AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION,
BUT DELIVER US FROM THE EVIL ONE.”
