26 September 2018 – Acts 28: 23-24 (NIV)

Scripture

23 They arranged to meet Paul on a certain day, and came in even larger numbers to the place where he was staying. He witnessed to them from morning till evening, explaining about the kingdom of God, and from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets he tried to persuade them about Jesus. 24 Some were convinced by what he said, but others would not believe.

Reflection

To experience God, to have a relationship with Him, it’s not just about ourselves. We can only witness about what we know, we can only explain about something we understand. For the believer, to continue to grow in the knowledge of God is not an option, it’s part of our everyday life, for our sake and for the sake of those around us. Some might be convinced, and some might not, but we know what He has called us to do. If you ever visit the SCF office you can see written on the wall of the big meeting room:

The Great Commission:

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.  Matthew 28:19-20 (Su).

Thoughts for the day

  • How are you daily growing in your relationship with God?
  • How are you advancing the Kingdom of God
  • What do you feel God is telling you through this passage?
  • What is one way you can apply this truth to your life today?
  • Who can you encourage with this story/message?

Prayer

Be still and wait patiently for God (Psalm 37:7).
