28 FEBRUARY 2018 – Psalm 19:7-11 (ESV)

Scripture

The law of the Lord is perfect,
    reviving the soul;
the testimony of the Lord is sure,
    making wise the simple;
the precepts of the Lord are right,
    rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is pure,
    enlightening the eyes;
the fear of the Lord is clean,
    enduring forever;
the rules of the Lord are true,
    and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold,
    even much fine gold;
sweeter also than honey
    and drippings of the honeycomb.
11 Moreover, by them is your servant warned;
    in keeping them there is great reward.

Reflection

The words of God, given to us in a book we know as the Bible are capable of many things; what an amazing list. Who wouldn’t want to have their soul refreshed? An increase in understanding and joy? God’s Word, the Bible, is like the presence of the best mentor and coach you will ever know. God’s word to you in the Bible is available 24/7 and is fit for every circumstance and for the entirety of our lives. You are already convinced of the value of the Bible or you wouldn’t be reading this page on the SCF web site. May it be sweeter than honey and more valuable than gold to all of us all our lives (Ps. Dale).
