When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. Acts 2:1-2

I have been thinking a lot lately about meeting space. (see the paragraph below). So it should not have been a surprise to me that I would notice the comment on Acts 2:1-2 from a Lectio365 writer, “From this verse it appears that God can and will fill the places where we meet as well as the people who meet there”.  I know that Christians like to make the point, especially during this season of “non-meeting”, that the church is not a building. On the other hand, we learn from the Bible that our Father takes note of the places where we choose to meet and even fills them with His Spirit. Thank God for that!

Even before we stopped meeting on Sundays we knew that the Hengshan Church building was scheduled for major renovations. Recently we were informed that the church building is closing down while we are still unable to meet. This means that when we are given permission to meet on Sundays again, we will not be going back to the Hengshan campus. SCF is looking for a temporary meeting space, a place where we can meet during the 2+ years it will require to renovate and restore the church. Please be praying that we will be able to find temporary meeting facilities. Pray that whenever and wherever we meet together the Spirit of God will fill the space… and the people!
