Scripture
6 So he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.
Reflection
It is not easy to keep our faith in times of trouble and hardships. One person who can relate is Zerubbabel who rebuilt God’s temple that collapsed by the hands of the Assyrians. However, there was a time when the construction of the temple was suspended for 16 years due to all sorts of interferences. Yet, he managed to persevere. It was not out of his strength (might or power) but by God’s help (God’s Spirit). When you are faced with difficulties and hardships, do you try to persevere and overcome it by your own strength, plans, and wisdom, or do you look towards God for help? Do you turn to the Bible (God’s Word) for wisdom, and do you pray and seek God’s counsel? How do you keep your faith during hard times? (Woowon)
