1 November 2019 – 2 Peter 3:17 (NIV)

Scripture

17 Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position.

Reflection

Imagine preparing someone for their first experience of changing subway lines at the People’s Square station in Shanghai for the first time. You would describe the thousands of people squeezed into a small place and the ease with which one is “carried away” by the massive crowd thus missing the desired exit. Be prepared! Be determined! “Fight your way through the crowd” you would say. Never forget dear Christian that you have a secure position in Christ but you must also never forget that there are forces of darkness at play trying to pry you from that secure place. By the grace of Christ you will stand!
