10 JANUARY 2018 – 2 Chronicles 20:12 (AMP)

Scripture

12 O our God, will You not judge them? For we are powerless against this great multitude which is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You.”

Reflection

The people of Judah were facing an overwhelming national disaster; one for which there was no possible solution. At least no solution that they could see or even imagine. It is one thing to say that with God all things are possible and quite another to have your “back against the wall” with no way of escape, no “plan B” in sight. Here then is an honest and helpful prayer: “Lord, we do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you” (Ps. Dale).

  • What does this passage tell us about God and people?
  • What do you feel God is telling you through this passage?
  • What is one way you can apply this truth to your life today?
  • Who can you encourage with this story/message?

Prayer

Pray for the spiritually lost among the global community in Shanghai; pray that they will be drawn to God by the Holy Spirit.
