Scripture

There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God;

Reflection

How is it that even in the obviously good things God has for us, we still find a way to fumble it? God in His amazing and infinite mercy, upon the creation of the world, programmed it for us all to do nothing for one day. Just rest, that’s it, nothing else. That is an awesome thing right? And yet Sin in its deceitfulness ‘helps’ us find a way to mess it up still. Rest is good, not only is it a command, but it is grace. Our Creator knows us better than anyone and desires our spiritual and physical health more than anyone. Isnt it wonderful that for us to experience all that He has intended for us, we need to learn how to pause, be still and rest? (Josh)

Thoughts for the day

  • What does this passage tell you about God, man and Jesus?
  • What do you feel God is telling you through this passage?
  • How can you apply this message in an area of your life that needs transformation?
  • Is there anyone you can share this message with?

Prayer

As you travel on your daily journey, take a few minutes to pray through your day before it starts: any tricky classes, meetings or people you’ll encounter in your day. Then after your day is done, take time to give everything back to God again as you travel home.
