10 May 2019 – Mark 4:30-32 (NIV)
Scripture
30 Again he said, “What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? 31 It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. 32 Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.”
Reflection
Most of the time its the small things that count and add up. If you saved 15rmb a day, you would have 5475rmb at the end of the year. Enough to go on a nice vacation or buy that special something you wanted. A professional golfer practices their shot everyday for hours to be able to hit a small ball (no wider than 3cm) into a small cup that is hundreds of meters away. Similarly, its the small things in our walk of faith that count and add up.
It’s the long hours of practicing your instrument that bears fruit on the stage when you lead people into praise and worship. It’s the countless prayers you pray for someone and finally seeing God do His thing and come through. It’s the faith you have in the face of opposition that strengthens your trust in Him. It’s the daily reading of scripture that guides your path and brings His word to life. Our walk is taken just one step at a time, its only when you look back that you’ve realized what you’ve climbed and how far you’ve gone (Josh Xiong- Worship Director).
