Scripture
14 There we found some brothers and sisters who invited us to spend a week with them. And so we came to Rome.
Reflection
After quite a journey, Paul had finally made it to Rome to share about Jesus and witness to the world. All these things happened to Paul BEFORE he wrote the book of Romans. We often forget that don’t we? Had he not gone through all he did I do not think he could have written these words in Romans 8, “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Where are you in your journey? Have you gotten to Rome yet? Where is your Rome? Are you still being refined in character? Is it time to write your opus? “And so we came to Rome…”
Thoughts for the day
- What does this passage tell you about God or Jesus?
- What does this passage tell you about humanity?
- What do you feel God is telling you through this passage?
- How can you apply this message in an area of your life that needs transformation?
- Is there anyone you think should hear or will benefit from this message? Go and tell them.
Prayer
When challenges come we can so easily forget where our identity comes from. Today take time to pause and be reminded of God’s love for you.
