Scripture
11 Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith.”
Reflection
Today’s verse not only helps us to take the weight off our shoulders by ‘trying’ to be perfect but it also serves as an immense assurance and hope for humanity. No amount of effort or work on our part will ever render us right before God. We eventually mess up, we sin and we miss the mark.
This verse serves as a reality check that there’s nothing we can do by ourselves to earn God’s favour. Even the self-righteous can not save themselves. However, faith is required to live a righteous life as stated in Galatians 3 “The righteous will live by faith”.
Take some time today and let God search your heart. Have you been relying on the law to be justified before God or perhaps you have employed the same lenses to judge others? Turn to Jesus; his yoke is easy and light. Have that weight taken off of your shoulders (Su).

Prayer
Think of someone you know who could use a little joy in their lives and pray for presence of the Lord to rest on them. “In His presence there is fullness of Joy” Psalm 16:11.
