Scripture
37 For,
“In just a little while,
he who is coming will come
and will not delay.”
38 And,
“But my righteous one will live by faith.
And I take no pleasure
in the one who shrinks back.”
Reflection
Repetition is a well-known educational tool. Not only does it help us remember facts but from a hermeneutical point (the study of the Bible), repetition is a method authors use to stress the importance of a truth or fact. In the last couple of days we’ve seen Habakkuk 2:4 being quoted in 3 different New Testament passages – “The righteous will live by faith”. It is safe to say that this quote is important and we should remember it.
The letter of Hebrews is directed to Christians who had suffered for the Gospel. It reminds me of that second wind you get when you feel tired, when you don’t have the strength to keep going, but knowing the truth help powers you through to reach the goal.
Have you been tired and or weary lately? Wondering if it is all worth it? Don’t despair. Hope in the One who is coming and who will not delay. Live by faith. Don’t shrink back. Power through and keep going (Su).
