22 January 2021 – Psalm 75:9 (NIV)

Scripture

As for me, I will declare this forever;
    I will sing praise to the God of Jacob,

Reflection

This psalm celebrates an anticipated victory (something yet to be seen). The psalmist recognized that God will establish judgment at the appointed time, and that the judgment will destroy the wicked and exalt the righteous. On the basis of this he warned the wicked to submit to God who alone can deliver.

The last two verses of this psalm testifies that God’s judgment or that anticipated victory that the psalmist isn’t experiencing yet, is however praiseworthy right now. May this psalm encourage you, regardless your current giants or struggles, sing and praise like the psalmist of God’s worthiness and righteousness, even though you might not experience victory yet. God will deliver you and give you freedom. Praise him now for what is to come.
