Scripture
28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
Reflection
Do you live your life with a sense of expectation of Jesus’ second coming?
I once heard someone saying he used to pray with his grandma when he was little and he would often hear her praying: “Come Jesus, come… we are waiting for you to come back!” so he would be on the other side of the bed praying: “Please don’t come yet! I’m not ready!”.
We can easily be sidetracked by the life we are living now; thinking all that we have is in the now. I’m not saying we are supposed to stop doing what we do daily: wake up, work, wash clothes, take care of the children, etc… but I believe the way we are currenlty living our lives can’t compare to what it will look like when Jesus comes again.
Are we living our lives getting ready for His second coming? How can we live our lives today with the awareness of the eternal impact it will have in the future (Su).
Thoughts for the day
- If Jesus would come today, will you be received with open arms?
- What do you feel God is telling you through this passage?
- How can you apply this message in an area of your life that needs transformation?
- Is there anyone you can share this message with?
