30 January 2019 – Revelation 1:7 (NIV)

Scripture

“Look, he is coming with the clouds,”
    and “every eye will see him,
even those who pierced him”;
    and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.”
So shall it be! Amen.

Reflection

When Jesus returns, “every eye” will see him – both Christians and non-Christian. However, when Jesus comes again to judge the world those who do not know him will mourn because of him. This is a very important point to note. For non-Christians, their possessions, their beliefs, what they love, and everything else that they place their value in will be meaningless on the day of Christ’s return. One tactic the enemy uses is to distort the importance or reality of that day. But if they don’t face the truth, they will mourn on the day when Jesus comes again.

What do you hold most valuable, your relationship with Jesus, or your earthly possessions/beliefs? Does this passage create a joy within you knowing your security is in Christ, or does it create a sense of sadness? (Woowon)
