6 FEBRUARY 2018 – 1 Peter 2:17 (AMP)

Scripture

17 Show respect for all people [treat them honorably], love the brotherhood [of believers], fear God, honor the king.

Reflection

In some parts of the world and in some parts of the church we struggle with knowing how to relate to people who are not like us; that is people who are not Christian and not like us. Should we “rebuke them”, should we correct them, should we reject them? At last what we should do is respect them, in fact we should respect everyone. When we respect someone it doesn’t mean that we approve of their character or the things that they do. We show honor and respect when we work for their good (Ps. Dale).
