21 February 2019 – Hebrews 4:12 (NIV)

Scripture

12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Reflection

“For the word of God is alive and active.” I’m terrible at remembering scripture passages by heart. After lots of practice, a few finally have stuck. Praise God! And you know what? It seems that over and over when I come across a hard situation or when someone is asking advice from me, those few scripture passages I have written on my heart resurface to help me to bring new light to the situation or a fresh perspective to the person asking advice! It has encouraged me to memorize the word even more. It is a tangible reminder that He is indeed a living and active God (Josh).

Thoughts for the day

  • How often do you read God’s Word?
  • What do you feel God is telling you through this passage?
  • How can you apply this message in an area of your life that needs transformation?
  • Is there anyone you can share this message with?

Prayer

Ask God to deliver you from your troubles to protect you from the evil one and deliver you from temptation.
