9 FEBRUARY 2018 – 1 Peter 3:7 (NIV)

Scripture

Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.

Reflection

An important and critical reminder to husbands everywhere that your wife, if she is a Christian, whatever you might think of her, is your co-heir with Christ. The two of you stand before Christ as equals, having received the same grace and inheritance; the same standing before the throne of God. A lack of awareness of this fact can effect answers to prayers. Either because we have failed to rightly attend to our wife or because we have brought down on our heads God’s discipline (or both) Wake up bro! (Ps. Dale).
