21 DECEMBER 2017 – Romans 16:25-27 (ESV)

Scripture

25 Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages 26 but has now been disclosed and through the prophetic writings has been made known to all nations, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith— 27 to the only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ! Amen.

Reflection

I can only imagine what that conversation would be like, having Paul walk us through the prophetic writings and show us how Jesus Christ is the way for all Gentiles to come to faith in God. A “Gentile” is someone who is not Jewish; considering that the current world population is about 7.5 billion people and the total Jewish population is slightly above 13 million people . . . there are a lot of “Gentiles” today for whom God has made a way into the fullness of life through his son Jesus Christ! (Ps. Dale).
